We were very good friends together when we both attended Streatham Hill congregation, in the late seventies, he used to play with a JW band at The Green Man pub somewhere in South London

Mill Hill Disfellowshippings
by BorgHater ina few months ago there was a thread about a couple of elders at the mill hill bethel being disfellowshipped because they disagreed with some wt doctrine (i can't recall exactly what it was) and that several other betheliteswere under 'investigation'.
i haven't heard anything since, does anyone know anything more about this?.

Thanks Blondie,
The writers of such worn out articles can just as well pick up and paste together bits of previous similar articles and change a little the arrangement of paragraphs. There is strictly nothing new in those "study"articles, which betrays a cruel shortage of imagination, initiative and scholarship in the current writing dpt and reveals the definitive downhilll trend of the WTS.

whose hiding in the toilets at the kingdom hall?
by highdose inthis was a favorite way of getting away from the very unloving "loving brothers and sisters".
hide in the toilets, no one can collar you and tell you off.
and even better you won't be in amongst a group of people but still feeling so alone... at least you will actauly be alone!.

The best bit is the feeling of relief that it's over when I get to drive away.
Reminds me of that elder trying, during midweek meeting, to convince us about how wonderful attendind meetings was and how much good those were doing to us. He said something like "who among us, brothers and sisters, hasn't experienced this, that we didn't feel for leaving home to go to the KH after a work day but, at the end of the meeting, felt so much better, satisfied". i'm pretty sure that quite a few "brothers and sisters" were then thinking what Sapphy says.

A saying goes that when there are several motivations for something, one suffices and supersedes all the others. Hmm, what may be yours ?

Welcome, Not Sure Yet,
you are very honestly expressing your inner feelings on the board, so why wouldn't you simply let your husband and children read your posts ? that would be a short cut and save you many words of explanations to them. After the first shock they will probably want to discuss openly your, and the whole family's new situation. I can see only benefits to this straightforward way of handling the case.

What is "being in love"?
by highdose ini don't think i've ever been in love, and have no idea what it is or what it is like?.
is it somthing fictional or real?.

I believe that being in love requires that the other person be in love with you.
I beg to differ, Poopsie, and say that it is rather the opposite. Inter gender relationship seems, IMO, to suffer from this basic flaw whereby one loves while the other accepts being loved, and in more (not so) extreme situations, one suffers as the other yawns.

A Demon Experience?......This was/is very serious to me.
by awildflower inso when we moved here from maine to okc, six years ago this coming april, my daughter was 7. the military moved us so it brings a big moving truck to your house and unloads all of your stuff etc.
we had been settling in for a few months and my daughter starting telling me that she was hearing things in her room.
small things at first, just enough to prick up her ears.

Razziel,
having read your -rare but valuable- previous posts, I would venture the explanation for the failure of your marriage that your wife simply thought that you were too brainy for her. As AWF pointed out, you write superbly.
AWF, I've no qualm in believing in evil spirits, and I think that every time some otherwise normal people, like Rwandese, or Germans in the past, engage in mass slaughtering, only evil forces can direct such madness. This is one of the reasons why the JW message about the Devil being in the vicinity of the earth has never sounded weird to me.

is Mel Parkin still alive? and does he reside at The London Branch?
I knew him as a CO in Chelsea around 1978 or 79, he was already all white, looking about 60 of age. Would then be more than 90 by now. I've been told by an English elder that the branch has built special homes for their old faithful servants.
btw, and off topic, I had a look at Chelsea cong accounts for 2009. The hall is quite small so it must not be a big congregation, unless they merged, say maybe with Fulham (couldn't find the accounting report for the latter) but anyway, they have garnered some £ 62 000 in 2009 and their expenses were less than £ 20 000. Makes a hefty surplus of £ 42 000 !! what on earth have they done with all that money in excess, has the whole of it been funnelled to the branch ?

armageddon could well come on my 100th birthday!
Not so sure because at the very time you think you will get hold of the "prize", a kid will overlap your life and He will see Har Magedon, some time around 2150.
